Gamespot are reporting the following...

Microsoft will cut the price of the Xbox One in UK to £399.99 from February 28, the company has announced.

The price cut comes 94 days since the machine was launched, with its original UK price coming in at £429.99. It took almost two years for original Xbox 360 to see a price cut, with a $50/£30 cut to the 20GB model of Xbox 360 in August 2007. The PlayStation 3 saw its first US price cut, a $100 reduction on the 60GB model, roughly eight months after launch.

Xbox UK Marketing Director Harvey Eagle confirmed to GameSpot that the company currently has no plans to cut the price in other territories. The Xbox One retails for $499 in the US--which is roughly £300.

As part of the price cut, Microsoft will also sell its freshly-unveiled limited edition Titanfall bundle in the UK at the new price of £399.99. Preorders of the machine, which includes a Titanfall download code, will begin today and will be available while stocks last.

Sony said at the end of January that it was selling 1.5 PS4's in the UK for every Xbox One sold. Will Microsoft's price cut help the Xbox One catch up?

Success here depends on how well Titanfall delivers, if it is a system seller then I think this price has a chance, but I think Xbox one needs more overall than a single top class game to improve its chances, the momentum is still with Sony and MS are going to struggle to overcome that, but I think that they will improve their chances with this, once the hardcore have their machines in any console war it comes down to the masses of relatively uninformed consumers who often buy the machine that most sticks in their mind when they walk into the store. In this case Sony have the current sales momentum but Xbox has lots of consumers with 360s who may well stick with the brand, caring little for the way MS has gone about shaping its next gen machine.

That's certainly a good deal now. I played Titanfall last September and I thought it was brilliant. I think I can hold out for Respawn's next game tho.

Too little too late. They shouldve come out with that price here in the beginning instead of blaming exchange rates etc as they always do. Microsoft have always felt the need to charge us in the UK more.

If I actually liked watching TV, in fact if I actually had a TV licence, then I'd get an xbox one so I could watch SKY and stuff through it and get the achievements - NOT!

I doubt ill post in this forum too often but this thread did catch my eye,

IMO its still far too overpriced and this along with titianfall just won't be enough to compete with Sony, too little too late..something Sony learnt with the ps3

Er... That's all I got to say on the subject really ..

Xbone still isn't available in Holland. Not even a release date. People who want the machine, already bought one in Germany, so I'm not confident MS will sell much over here when it eventually does come out.
I agree with Slaine, too little too late. MS doesn't care what the fans want. It's all about the money these days, what a shame.

Ain't TitanFall multiplayer only??? So you still need £40 a year for Gold, which isn't worth it compared to PSN Plus.
