Do you have a dying need to play Crimson Skies, or the original Halo without any of the 10th anniversary improvements? You must have been thrilled to hear that Microsoft's E3 press conference announced that original Xbox backwards compatability was on the way. But obviously we knew that already, and now we know roughly when it'll arrive.

Microsoft made a big deal about how it wanted people to be able to play the entire Xbox back catalogue on a single machine, but it didn't reveal when this particular feature would actually launch. Now, though, Xbox head Phil Spencer has revealed it'll arrive before the end of the year. Speaking to Gamespot:

"I know the games that are coming for the original Xbox but I don’t think we’ve announced them all. We have to do this in partnership with partners, but we’re still on track. I feel really good. The games look great."

Spencer was then asked if the feature would arrive by the end of the year, and he confirmed that it would. It's not quite as precise as some people would like, but considering there are only two and a half months of 2017 left we don't have to wait that long. [Gamespot via Ubergizmo]

Really, XBox Original Compat? Do they really see a demand for that?
Also, where do I plug in my Duke controller into the One?

Most, as I think. Also the Gold-Games give you them to play on the One.
