As I am currently looking for a job I was wondering what kinds of things that people here do for a living.

In the past I have...
Designed and installed Control panels for heating and ventilation systems.
Welding shop display stands
Made Envelopes
Made Pressure Formed plastic food packaging, like those horrible things that you get sandwiches in. :brick:
and for the last 8 years i've not been well so I think that getting back into work could be a bit of a problem. :1thumbdown:

so what have you done / are you doing ???

By day (currently) I'm an office manager for a holiday let company,
by night an international VJ/DJ/audio-visual artist superstar.
And a little big-headed, apparently.

Well during the day I'm a Warehouseman/Warehouse Admin/Goods In Clerk/Cleaner/Caretaker for a multinational paper company. To put it Bluntly they sacked all our staff leaving me and two managers lol. I also dabble in just about anything in the little spare time I have. Just last Saturday I fixed two fooshed 360's. Apparently I have a knack for fixing just about anything. :)

I'm currently a systems developer for Newcastle College and have worked with Management Information Systems within the Further Education sector for the last 13 years. Bit of a wizz kid when it comes to databases and extracting obscenely complex data sets that make Excel look like a childs toy, which is a good founding for what I do now, which is making systems to support our central Students Records system with web based front ends (no local installs).

Outside of work I take on mini-hobbies all the time, golfing (which I suck at), running (did the Great North Run young enough for it not to be a midlife crisis), Snooker (which I also suck at), building joysticks and drum kits for the PS3. My most recent one is radio controlled piloting (yes..I also suck at this).

I am a renowned street racing driver wanted by the law, an international air combat ace, a happy go lucky treasure hunter, pinball wizard and part time killzone medic.

Sometimes during the day I may be found doing something tedious in an office, but we dont talk about that, ever, no really, never.

Im an artist. I draw dole.

But prior to that I was a Motor Fleet Underwriter. Been in motor insurance most of my working life in some shape or form. Very very dull.

In the past Ive been a roofer, cess pit drainer, McDonalds burger flipper (for 1 day only), gardener, courier (all around London), window cleaner, etc.

Bizarrely, when I was about to leave College I wanted to be a male stripper. A friend of mine did it and made enough money to buy a flat in London and live, so I thought why not. This was of course before the middle age spread set in. Now I'd be lucky to be able to spot my own cock under the folds.

I am a store manager at Intertoys, the biggest toy retailer in The Netherlands.
Worked in retail for about 17 years now. Started part time at Albert Heyn supermarkets and worked my way up to (full time) floor manager. Switched to T4Telecom phone store after 10 years at AH and realised my mistake a year later. T4T was horrible, fighting over customers to boost your targets (eg bonus) isn't my style. Intertoys provided me with more job satisfaction, resposibilities and most recently an oppurtunity to get back to school to earn my Bachelor's degree in Business Engineering.

In my (rapidly decreising) spare time I like to spend time with my girlfriend and play online with you nobs ;)

Does anyone use Linkedin by the way? If so look me up (Jeroen Spruijt)

For the last 6 years I've worked in a book wholesale warehouse, but the last 3 and half I've been part time due to medical problem so now only 3 days a week.

Have been a lab technician and kitchen staff in the past.

Now learning to play the guitar in my free time. I do real Motorsport events in the year and I help load and unload a van full of music gear every so often.

By night I race the worlds circuits and maybe run around being a bullet magnet.

I started life as a ram raider, then became a market trader, then shop keeper and went on to run a multinational conglomerate. When that went to the wall I became a stunt man in the porn industry. It was a hard job , which i just couldn't keep up. Now I sell coal skuttles mainly to Uruguayan collectors via my website.

I've had 2 of them in the past and they are shit. They rust really quick. The bottom fell out of one and the front handle came off the second.

Yes there were a lot of complaints over that model. I've now sold the company to a wealthy Russian, donated the funds to the Save the Phillapines Tuna Fishermans fund and have become a monk.

Until recently i had been deputy manager of a children's home, working with kids with severe behaviour issues.

However I had been on the sick for 5 months, and only just went back to work on a phased return program over the last 4 weeks.

Part of the plan to help me back to work is to have less responsibility, so currently i am working as a care worker... which I am loving... I even get paid to game!!
