Sorry I missed your message @Plaxinator and that does surprise me re motion sickness.
It's probably because I'm pregnant, I've been banned from VR for the interim. Well, I'll comply when Mr Plax in the house anyway, otherwise I'm happy to have another sneaky go when he's out :D

One didn't want to assume or suggest such a thing! ;)

I've had it once, playing EVE Valkyrie first thing in the morning, after 6 hours on VR the night before with *cough* a few shandies. Of course it had nothing to do with the aforementioned libations however it did knock the wind out of my sails for most of the day.

but never been literally sick so that was a first. I’ll give it another crack tomorrow and see how I get on.
Could be due to the fact you're not alone in that body anymore? What is the advise on VR for pregnant women anyway?

Edit:

ah, you already had the same conclusion on the next page... I'm not fully awake yet....

With all that said, how does baby know which way is up or down just now anyhow? I imagine the womb being perfect training for a VR warrior!

Well I think they must instinctively just head for the light . By now he should be head down! I'd have thought astronaught as the amniotic fluid could act like a gravity free training zone. Or maybe even a scubadiver.

Team-based PS VR shooter Firewall Zero Hour’s upcoming gameplay updates detailed
Plus, the development team offers expert tips to help newcomers get a head start

Hi guys, Shabs here, Game Director at First Contact Entertainment. We’re the developers behind Firewall Zero Hour — the multiplayer FPS that just launched exclusively on PS VR!

Here’s our launch trailer, in case you missed it:

First up, we’ve been so excited to see the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the Firewall Zero Hour community since launch last week! We have loved seeing all of your posts, comments, and livestreams. Thank you, everyone, from the bottom of our hearts.

We wanted to reconvene, and get a tip sheet ready for those who are just now learning about the game. Here are some tips for how to get started in Firewall Zero Hour, straight from the devs:

01. Take Aim
If you’re new to PS VR, you can play the game with a PS VR headset and either a Dualshock 4 controller or PS VR Aim Controller. Firewall Zero Hour is also currently available as a game bundle with the PS VR Aim Controller, so it’s the perfect opportunity to get both, if you don’t have them yet.

02. Get comfortable
Say you’ve just got the game. Awesome! If you’re new to VR in general, once you fire up Firewall Zero Hour, it’s great to experiment with the different comfort settings available for VR locomotion. In the game menu settings, you can toggle between smooth turning and snap turning. You can also change the “vignette” settings, where you toggle on/off blinders for sprinting.

03. Learn loadouts without battlefield stress
Stepping into the game. On your first outing, try out the Tutorial, then try out solo training for a few different maps. In Solo Training* you’ll go up against AI, and get a feel for what it’s like to be an Attacker or Defender. You can also experiment with different default loadouts and their weaponry (Assault, CQB, Support).

04. Fight AI to build your communication skills
Once you get the hang of different game mechanics, you’re ready try out multiplayer training.** You and your teammates will play co-op, going up against AI and learning the value of teamwork by communication. Try out different Contractors in this mode and see how their Primary skills play out.

05. Get thinking offensively and defensively
Now you’re ready for multiplayer contracts mode — the creamy center of Firewall Zero Hour. In this mode, teams of 4v4 go head to head in public PVP, and the stage is set for unpredictable outcomes. You’ll experience what it’s like to play as an Attacker, and a Defender, as your role switches after every round. Strategise together in the lobby and throughout the match. Who’s staying together? Who’s going to flank? Who’s going to place mines by the laptop? Who’s bringing the revive pistol? Vocal communication with your teammates is crucial to your success.

06. Use the environment to your advantage
Experiment with different default loadouts. As a Defender, try the Support loadout, and lay your mines strategically around the laptop. Backs of chairs, tops of tables, and all around doors are fair game when it comes to mine placement locations. As an Attacker, the Assault loadout is great for a variety of maps, thanks to its mid-range assault rifle and powerful frag grenades.

07. Look for bonus XP
So you’ve been playing lots of Contracts, gaining XP and Crypto along the way. What are some other ways you can gain XP and Crypto in the game? Look carefully in maps — each match has an Intel pickup that any player can obtain for bonus XP, as well as stacks of Crypto coins scattered around the map.

08. Unlock long range revivals
Weapon and equipment challenges are another great way to improve your skills and earn XP. Every time you activate an Access Point, revive a teammate, or take out an enemy with C4, you are earning XP and leveling up. On that note–did you know you can revive your teammates from afar? Just equip a Revive Pistol as a secondary weapon, unlocked at level 26.

09. Test out attachments
Once you’ve reached level 4, you can start experimenting with customising your loadout in the menu. What to spend your Crypto on first? Try experimenting with different weapon attachments. How about a Red Laser Sight, a Suppressor, or a Grip? Perhaps you’re saving up for a whole new weapon entirely. The Kruger assault rifle is a favourite for long-range maps, like Docks and Warehouse.

10. Contractors offer different perks
Continue to progress and keep leveling up. Unlock new Contractors. Suit them up to your liking, with camo, facepaint, and a weapon trinket.

Is being quick-on-your feet is of utmost importance? Try playing as Diaz (unlocked at level 15), his Primary skill of “Double Time” allows for faster movement speed–or, try equipping his skill as the Secondary skill of one of your other Contractors.

Are you ‘nades, ‘nades, grenades all day? The “Bang Bang” skill gives you an extra frag grenade. Is frantically looking for signal modifiers making you short on time to hack the laptop?Try equipping your Contractor with the Hacker skill as their Secondary skill, which allows you to initiate the laptop hack faster.

There are a vast number of things you can do to personalise the way you want to play in Firewall Zero Hour.

Community update
We wanted to reiterate that we’ve been reading and listening to all the community feedback. Thanks for all the messages you’ve been sending us!

We wanted to acknowledge some early questions and concerns from the community, and let you know we are working on various bug fixes and improvements to the game. Every patch has to undergo rigorous testing to make sure we don’t add to a problem, or create new bugs. This can take time. Here are some of the items that we are currently working on:

  • Setting up a squad with squadmates: We’re continuing to evaluate and improving squad handling. We are aware that players who join as squads are having issues with their lobbies, and we are working hard on a fix that addresses this.
  • Host performance: We currently use a peer-to-peer format, so please be aware that it is possible that quitting early may affect everyone else’s game. We are working on improved in-game messaging and a way to protect the loss of progression (Crypto and XP) for players when this happens.

Lastly, we wanted you to know we are reading all the feedback we can, and our goal is to continue to improve the game so that it’s a great experience for everyone. We wanted to note that we are focused on supporting the game post-launch with additional new content, and will have more to share about that soon!

Thanks again for playing the game and making the launch such an amazing experience. We can’t wait to play with you online in PS VR!

*An internet connection is required for all modes of Firewall Zero Hour, including single player training mode.**PS Plus is required for multiplayer training and multiplayer contract modes.

Are people still playing this? Now that I'm finding my feet better with the boy, I'm going to try and dust off my PS4. Mr Plax will take him tonight while I get the duster out. I'm going to try tonight from around 7pm.

Firewall Zero Hour gets two game-changing new Contractors in tomorrow’s DLC drop
Plus, additional new features, items and optimisations for the PS VR tactical shooter

Hey guys! It’s Shabs here, Game Director from First Contact Entertainment — developer behind Firewall Zero Hour, the team-based multiplayer shooter exclusive to PS VR. This new year is off to a great start for Firewall Zero Hour, with a PAX South trip to showcase the game, a PS Plus Free Trial, a Flash Sale, and so many new PS VR fans discovering the game!

Since game launch in August 2018, the team here at First Contact Entertainment has continued to be heads down working on new in-game content drops for you, our ever-growing Firewall Zero Hour community.

We are excited to announce that Firewall Zero Hour DLC #4 will be available for purchase on PS Store tomorrow! Firewall Zero Hour DLC #4 features two brand new Contractors* — Jag and Node — and their unique respective skills, Ambush and Afterlife.

New Contractor: Jag
Jag’s Ambush skill allows you to bring three mines into battle. Now, players who equip this skill have the opportunity to get even deadlier on the Defending squad, placing more mines in more locations — tripping up even more Attackers. The Ambush skill can be equipped to any Contractor once you’ve reached level 31 and for 25,000 Crypto.

TITLE

New Contractor: Node
Node’s Afterlife skill gives you the ability to detonate your planted C4 from the support feed. This is a real game-changer for Defenders who placed C4 during the match, but died before they got to detonate it. Now, after death, you can watch from the support feed and detonate your C4 on an unsuspecting enemy right at the perfect time! The Afterlife skill can be equipped to any Contractor once you’ve reached level 43 and for 35,000 Crypto.

Firewall Zero Hour announces Operation: Nightfall update, out 21st May
PS VR exclusive gets new season of maps, Contractors, missions, and rewards

Hey guys! It’s Shabs here, Game Director from First Contact Entertainment – developer behind Firewall Zero Hour*, the team-based tactical multiplayer shooter, exclusive to PS VR.

In case you’re new to the game, Firewall Zero Hour takes place in a world where information is power and the leak of sensitive data can be used to influence world leaders, topple governments, and destabilize entire nations.

Players use teamwork, strategy and an arsenal of equipment to either acquire or protect a cache of sensitive data. Whether playing on the attacking team or defending team, communication with your teammates is key to survival.

Since Firewall Zero Hour’s launch in August 2018, the team here at First Contact Entertainment has been working hard, continuously adding new content to the game. We’ve taken heed of our very active community and updated the game in a variety of ways.

From in-game improvements (like weapon tuning, equipment balancing, level-matchmaking, and overall performance) to content drops (4 DLC drops since launch featuring new customisations / cosmetics, Contractors / Skills, Maps, Weapons), Firewall Zero Hour has seen many updates and improvements, largely shaped by community feedback!

Today, we are excited to announce our biggest update to the game yet — Operation: Nightfall – coming 21st May!

With Operation: Nightfall, we’re bringing a whole new face to Firewall Zero Hour as you know it. One of the most significant changes is introducing a whole new system of time-limited progression taking the form of Missions, Tasks, and cosmetic Rewards.

New seasonal progression system of missions, tasks, and rewards
With the Operation: Nightfall drop, we’ve changed our previous challenges system to take on a more meaningful approach and reward players with new cosmetics. Each week your Contract Handler will assign a new Mission to complete, yielding new rewards. You will notice new optional daily Tasks presented to you as well, which reward you with XP and Crypto. Check back daily for new Tasks!

Every week there will be one Mission is available for free for all players. With an Op-Pass, players can unlock additional Premium and Bonus missions and earn Seasonal cosmetic rewards, which unlock immediately upon completion of these Missions.

Check out the infographic below to see a list of what’s available this season:

Firewall Zero Hour - Operation: Nightwall

We’ve also introduced a Legendary Weapon Skin, Okoro’s Volkov, available to Op-Pass holders who complete all 24 missions, for 250,000 Crypto.

Firewall Zero Hour - Operation: Nightwall

New maps and Contractors
Operation: Nightfall kicks off with the brand new map, Hangar, and a new Contractor, Ruby, who brings the Skill of “Thief” (ability to steal Crypto from enemy corpse).

The map of Hangar takes place around a large military transport aircraft in a hangar in the heart of Malaysia, and is available to all players. Ruby, the Contractor, is accessible via the Op-Pass. Her Skill of “Thief” is available as a timed-exclusive to Op-Pass holders (after season wraps, the Skill becomes available to all players at Level 12 and with 12,000 Crypto).

Later on, players will see Operation: Nightfall’s mid-season update, which will introduce another new map (F.O.B.) and new Contractor (Lynx) for the season.

New weapons
Also launching on day one of Operation: Nightfall are three new weapons (the Richardson SG12, Sarge, and Raptor), which become available upon completion of their corresponding weekly missions.

Firewall Zero Hour - Operation: Nightwall

New UI and QOL updates
Players will immediately notice a completely revamped UI in the game. This will make the new Missions, Tasks, and Rewards system very clear to players. Players will also notice various changes in the lobby that improve overall performance and stability.

Other quality-of-life updates include: Squad optimisations, ability to customise Contractors in lobby, map and laptop location refresh in Bunker and Compound, as well as updates to enemy indicators and headshot SFX.

Firewall Zero Hour - Operation: Nightwall

New AI
When playing Multiplayer PvE Training mode, players will witness new AI behaviour that changes the traditional PvE gameplay experience. The new AI behaviours are meant to mimic human-like player tactics, with characteristics like breaching doors, hunting players down, and using equipment intuitively.

New ways to access more content
Beginning 21st May, we are excited to offer players several new ways to enjoy the game, depending on your play style. The Op-Pass and Hack Keys are explained below:

  • Operation: Nightfall update: Free update for all owners of Firewall Zero Hour-featuring new in-game UI, new Maps, and more. This update is viewable as soon as players load up Firewall Zero Hour.
