You can now tag members of the community!

You can tag other users by simply using @ followed by their username. When typing in a username, you will see a dropdown option showing usernames. Clicking on one of these will complete the tagged username in the post.

Alternatively, just type in the full username. Although you will need to spell the username correctly, you don't need to worry about capital letters as these will be added automatically when the post is made.

Tagging can be used in forum posts, profile posts and profile post comments.

Tagged members will receive a forum alert and also an email if enabled. Email alerts are on by default but can be disabled in Contact Details.

Tagged names in posts will be hyperlinked and clicking on this will open up their Member Card.

I've amended the first post to show where users can enable email alerts for tags if they wish. :)

@mick, it did work as you'll see from your post, your name is tagged. If you were expecting an alert, you didn't get one because you tagged yourself. I mean, who would want notifying that they had been tagged by themselves?! ;) However you should get an alert from me tagging you in this post. :)

I don't think so, I think she'll get only one alert - I'm sure she'll tell us. :)

Incidentally the number of tags in a post can be limited or even removed from groups or individuals. Just thought I'd mention that in case anyone decides to misbehave with tagging. ;)

Ha! I haven't had a single notification Mickey Wickey. Even though I think I have set it to send notifications I haven't been notified. If I log on to the site via a PC I will probably get an alert though. But the alerts get me all excited. So that's OK.
