PS3 Sony to turn off old game server's

Sony has announced it will be turning off servers for:


MAG
SOCOM: Special Forces
SOCOM: Confrontation

28th January

Resistance: Fall of Man
Resistance 2
Resistance 3
28th March.

Gran Turismo 5
20th May

Does anyone still play any of these? Shame to see them go but they need too make room for more games.

Bit of a shame though I don't understand why, for smaller player count titles at least, they don't use P2P networks or at least patch the option in when turning dedicated servers off!

Thats one way of getting people to buy GT6 I suppose.

Did we get MAG for free on plus? Might have to check out if the mp trophies are easily obtainable before it gets turned off.
Darn shame about GT5, would have thought they'd have left that one.

Surely you'll still be able to play Socom Confrontation just not on ranked servers?

Don't play any of these any more, but it does bug me. How much hassle can it be to leave the servers running

It's all about the money isn't it. GT5 servers are turned off to get people to buy nr 6.
MAG and Socom are online only games, which makes them useless after switching off the servers. What a shame.
