    Anybody playing this at all?
I was planning to pick it up this evening from Asda, sub-£38.
My local GAME is trying to punt the download code only at £49.99!

It reminds me of the original final fantasy and although I liked final fantasy then it's just not for me now.

No, it's not my kind of game. Loads of people on Twitter seem excited about it though. Missy from HoPE has it. She was making curry or something the other day

I know what you mean - bit of a time sink, but I'm game for that.
About to try & knock the drinking on the head for a bit, which means my sleep patterns will be non-existent!

Its a typical Jap RPG. I wasnt blown away by the demo, but I must admit it really is a beautiful looking game, albeit generic.

I might get it when its cheaper. Gone right off the Final Fantasy series, but theres something about this game.

Yeah, I'm fairly done with FF - never bothered finishing the last one, 13 was it? 12 perhaps.
Love the Ghibli though & You never know, I may get away with playing it on the big screen occasionally!

Loving it so far although I imagine as it goes on,
The cutscenes will get less & grinding more.

It IS huge. Not only in terms of gameplay but also HD cut-scenes.
Why I picked up Dragons Dogma whilst only 30-odd hours in on this, I still don't know.

Thats the japs for you. They do love their lengthy cutscenes. Still I dont mind that, as it feels like a reward for progression anyway. Plus being a fan of Metal Gear Solid, how on earth could I not like cutscenes!!!

took me twelve hours to download though i've only played the game for around two hours so far. it's really the first JRPG i've played since Final Fantasy 7 on the playstation. so far i like the art style and cut scenes are pretty good.

I was sat playing this at 5am thins morning - slept in for work, oops!
30-odd hours through it now & it's only just starting to open up.
Some elements are a tad repetitive but overall it's a big thumbs up from me.

The odd bit of clunkiness aside, this is an extremely self assured piece of gaming, it has a wonderful art style and the musical score is top notch, really reminding you of Studio Ghibli films like Spirited away and Howls Moving Castle. If you enjoy the odd Japanese style RPG then you should be playing this, even if you are not a great fan of Final Fantasy.

The combat is surprisingly complex, even if I'm not a fan of the more "Pokemon-style" collection of creatures.

I'm coming up on the 40 hour mark now & without wishing to spoil it, the game has now opened right up.

Time to go back & grind!
