As I have said before I have been known as Jonny Wombat, or even just plain Wombat for years.

Today I embraced my inner Wombat and got this custom design steam punk Wombat tattoo done.

Got a couple of tramp stamps myself. Had them when I was 16, and they're still pretty stylish. I chose well even at that age!!!:D

Nice one Wombat.

What do you use on yours? I used to use pile cream, but my last 2 tattoos have been done by a different person (Cathy Sue at Dexterity Ink in Wrexham) and I have switched on her advice to using Bepanthen for the first 2 days then switching to cocoa butter (unfragranced) thereafter. My last one she did healed in a week.

Just FYI, you have to heat the Bepanthen in a cup of hot water for a few minutes before you apply it to make it runny, so it dont pull the scabs off / colour out when you apply it. Works a treat though.

I think it depends on a lot of things, but from what I gather any moisturiser should work well as it's just to help keep things supple until it heals.

My first bit of tattoo work took about three weeks to heal, but I got a half sleeve with lots of heavy black work, so my body had a lot of trauma to deal with in one sitting, I went back in two other sittings to have it finished, one sitting for the front of the shoulder and chest, the other for the back of my shoulder. Neither of those were anywhere near as intensive as both healed really well within a week with just a bit of E45 cream.

I just use Bepanthen until it's healed, 3 to 4 times a day to keep the scabs moist, Moist scabs come off easier when washing and reapplying cream.
