I can't listen to Radio 1 any more and I'm not even that old. I've found myself listening to Radio 2 more now or Absolute 80s when I'm at home. All the music nowadays is just noise and all these young boy bands and stuff irritate the **** out of me for some reason.

I read something the other day about Robbie Williams not being aired on Radio 1 anymore because he's too old.

Which quite frankly is bullshit, but I did listen to Radio 1 the other week and they have some camp little twat who is totally out of touch with the world talking about some unheard of pop band being the most important thing in the world.

Apparently this was the dipshit that boycotted Robbie Williams.

So yeah, Radio 1 is actually only suitable for 13 year old girls apparently.

I've found that too. I used to just about tolerate Moyles in a morning on the way to work if I didn't have my iPod with me. I thought he was bad but Grimshaw is worse and the music is just awful, so now I've switched to Radio 2.

I listen to a range of music and currently on my playlist both on the iPod and on the PS3 for NFS/GT5 are Clutch (how appropriate! , Truckfighters, Karma to Burn, Rotor and Yawning Man. For those who don't know these groups, they are classed as (sort of) desert/stoner/west coast rock.

I loved music but songs lately sound like nothing but noise, my current radio of choice is Radio 4 Extra  this isn't a joke.

I do like some music now but not sure Day of The Diesels by Thomas and Friends is in everyone's taste :P

I only watch TV late at night when I go to bed(unless there's football/sport on earlier)
I tend to listen to a lot of Talk Radio. Talksport and Radio5 Live mostly through the day.
I listen to mostly Classic Rock and I collect bootlegs of various artists/bands. Most of my bootlegs are good quality Soundboard recordings or studio outtakes etc. I don't collect audience recordings as most are of poor quality.
This is whats on my Bootleg MP3 player at the moment.

    Hi Jkrohn1.
A bootleg is either a live or studio recording of an artist/band that has never been released to the public for general sale.
Some bands don't like them, but most know that they happen and there's not a lot they can do about it. Bands like Radiohead and the Grateful Dead actually support them and go out of their way to help the bootleggers. They even have sites dedicated to bootleg recordings made at various venues.
A bootleg should never cost you any money, if you have to pay someone for a bootleg recording, then that's illegal, you are trying to make a profit on someone else's work. You never sell bootlegs, they should be free of charge. You trade them with other collectors. Trading of official released albums is a big no, no.
A lot of the live bootlegs I have of various bands are actually a lot better than the stuff they have released officially. Officially released albums have a completely different sound than a bootleg. The sound is a lot rawer.
The studio outtakes of official released albums can also be a lot better than the released material, with different track listing, better/different versions of songs and unreleased songs etc.

Thanks for the info, I always thought bootlegs were just as illegal as mp3 rips found in torrents. I have a few live albums and prefer the sound to some retail versions. Might look into getting some bootleg music over the weekend. Is there any sites you could recommend or do you find them on torrent sites?

You missed a song Macca ;)

And I know what you all mean about Radio 1. You're all old!!! :grandpa: We've become our parents and are doing exactly what they did to us; slate our music. And in true text book fashion, music really isnt what it used to be, and what the kids listen to now is just utter shit. :D

Personally I cant stand radio. When in the car I'll listen to the local radio KMFM. Loads of adverts, but the music is a bit hit and miss. I cant stand the playlists that Radio 1 seems to have.

I use my phone as a walkman, and it varies what I listen to. I like all kinds of stuff from Barry Manilow and Tom Jones to Marilyn Manson and Sex Pistols. Big Marc Almond/Soft Cell fan though, as well as U2, Enya, The The and Adam & The Ants (before he went mad).

    Who are you into JKrohn1?
I never use torrent sites, I always upload a show to Rapidshare or mostly Hotfile. Then send the person the link for direct download, or usually post the link, description and artwork on various music forums. I also send data discs via snail mail.

I've seen Tom Jones on TV a few times this year at various concerts, I think one was at Glastonbury. Fantastic singing voice, never hits a wrong note.
I've 3 or 4 of Enya's albums. Shepherd Moons being my favourite.

As much as I listen to very similar music to Martok my radio of choice is XFM. Wake up to it and listen to it during the day if I'm not listening to my own collection which contains plenty of stoner rock as much as I dislike the genres name. Although my music tastes are very varied and include big band jazz and 40's swing music all the way to the other extreme of death metal. I'm a 90s grunger with a dash of hippy and a sprinkling of pop with a dark industrial centre.

That all said though chart music these days is often utter tripe full of talentless over produced autotuned show winners.
