Bad reviews don't mean to say its a bad game. I remember Crisis 2 getting poor reviews as did Dirt Showdown, but they are two of the best games that i've played this year. Socom was shite at first, after a few patches it was a decent game. We’ve been told that there’s a Medal of Honor Warfighter day 1 patch and even though it’s optional, there’s a huge download importance because of the effects to the game if you do not go ahead and download this much-needed patch. One of the biggest issues is with progression stoppers in the single campaign and for those who do not have an Internet connection, then you might have to play the game with a bucket load of bugs.
A day 1 title patch is nothing new because this has become common practice, but looking at how big the list of fixes are, one has to wonder how Warfighter was allowed to pass certification? There are 74 fixes in total, that’s across the board; there are also a number of other platform specific fixes as well – I can’t remember when there was such a large day 1 fix as this.
Some gamers have suggested that this is a game breaker and that the game just wasn’t ready, but is it really as bad as all that – well the lack of reviews seemes to suggest that. EA had asked for the reviews not to appear until the update was made available to download today? See the complete Medal of Honor Warfighter Day 1 patch notes here.
We had expected to see some reviews for the game by now, but as yet some of the big players have yet to release their MoH: Warfighter reviews, but we’re sure they will be around a little later today – once they have had a chance to download the patch themselves to see if it makes any decent changes that could affect the outcome of the review score.
This is bad news for EA and could hurt sales, but then again the early previews for the game were not that great in the first place. Let’s hope that the game is given the chance that it deserves, but with the hype of Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 dominating the market it’s hard to see how Warfighter will be able to get a decent slice of the pie
