Well, I found your site by googling "Senior Gamers"; I was actually looking for the over 50 crowd, but I figured seniors might relax the 65+ rule for a disability pensioner at 61. I had no clue that 'Senior Gamers' were only 25 and up...really, who knew? So yes, I would like to be a full member of the group.
Anyway, that's me; I'm 61, a retired (on disability) former sailor in the Canadian Navy. I like shooters, sims and RPGs, mostly....in pretty much that order.
.....and RockBand/Guitar Hero are sims...of a sort.
I do like the shooters, and I like them best when my tag is not consistently at the bottom of the board, after every game. When I started playing COD2, you know, I wasn't too bad, really; give me a Lee-Enfield, Garand, or Bren, and I did OK; top 1/3, sometimes down halfway, playing online against my three sons & their friends (they called me "Boom, Headshot!" Instead of "Dad" when they got on a hot streak).
I started gaming some time ago, to distract myself from pain; first on PS2, the XB360, then Wii, PS3, then XB1&PS4.
Not counting PSP or Nintendo DS....
....or PS1, NES & Super Nintendo ; 'cause I don't game on-line on portables (except iPad/pod/phone), or the earlier consoles, (or PCs), and I didn't use those for pain control.
Really, I started gaming in 1973 on Pong; first played it in a café in Amsterdam. Then again as a console in '83. Got an NES IN '88 (for the kids), & their grandfather got them (& me) a Super Nintendo in '94; we skipped the Sega & the 64, & went for the Playstation next, playing a lot of PC-based games as well.
The first connected console I played was an XBox 360, and it hooked me; not "it", but the games: COD2 and Project Gotham Racing multiplayer.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting more people in my skill range; that is to say: old, slow, with poor eyesight & worse hand-eye coordination, somewhat impaired by chronic pain and drugs to treat chronic pain.
