Well I cant afford the likes of Sony Vegas and was wondering if anyone had heard of Lightworks? Apparently it was used to edit such movies as Wolf Of Wallstreet and Good Will Hunting just to name a few (Click Here) and has had alot of good press ( I have personally seen nothing) and although its opensource the full version is still a paid for application but the lite version is free and very restricted.

Anyway has anyone used it, heard of it?

I have just downloaded it but won't be using it until the weekend when i have some free time.

Torrent the full version.
You know I can't do that, it's illegal. I'll try the Lite version and see if its up to much then if I feel the need ill BUY the full version.

I thought Lightworks was entirely free anyway....the cost was the time spent learning how to use it as it's got a steep learning curve compared to some other video editors such as Windows Movie Maker (which has always been pretty good) and iMovie (which is again pretty good).

It looks like Sony Vegas from the videos I have seen on YouTube.

@ColSonders its 180£ to buy it outright.

VirtualDub sounds familiar, if I'm right it's also open source might give it a look.

I'm a PC user so iMovie isn't an option, and Windows movie maker seemed a bit featureless. Will give them all a go anyway.

Windows movie maker is kind of basic, thus why I can actually produce something, and it's easy to use. I did have to walk away from it one night but that was coz I had no clue what I was doing......usual story.

Have a look in the media part for what I have done with it (also watch the vids so I get the count up (shameless plug)). All of that was used using a Galaxy 3 phone and movie maker.

And yeah, whats with mac users pushing their I I I wares ah. It's all about I this and I that :P

iMovie is basically just the mac equivalent of WMM...it happens to be better, but what would a Windows user know about that? ;)

Tell your cameraman to shoot in landscape, i do find portrait movies on phones annoying...but that's me being a grumpy fecker!

No Cameramen were used/hurt during the filming.........just the wife.
She has now been "told" and I hope to not have to give her a second blackeye :empathy:

Consider it noted thank you.
