Play quick missions or full-scale raids in PvE or battle the rest of the world's best in PvP

Dear players, we are happy to announce that soon the world-renowned shooter Warface will soon be available on PlayStation. You can look forward to exciting battles and full-scale raids around the world, from the dangerous jungles of Africa to the snow-covered capes of Siberia. Prepare for an incoming fight!

    The background story of Warface

In the not too distant future. The world is in flames. A private military corporation Blackwood has started a series of armed conflicts in order to control the vital resources and achieve global domination. Illegal arms trading, human experiments, the massacre of civilians – Blackwood is achieving the set objectives with any means necessary.

Its well-trained mercenaries kill everyone who stands in their way without any remorse. But this was before Warface entered the stage. The professional soldiers of Warface have challenged the evil corporation to bring peace back to our planet.

Choose your role from Warface’s four classes

The first thing you need to do before leaving for a mission is to choose a class out of the four available ones. Each comes with its own set of tactical skills and a specific weapon type.

    • Rifleman
A universal class, armed with assault rifles and heavy machine guns. The first class to rush into the battle, watering down the fortifications of the enemy with lead, and the last one to retreat, covering the allies.

    • Medic
A virtuoso with a shotgun, which makes this class a deadly enemy at close range. Will be able to heal wounded allies and bring back the fallen ones with the help of a portable defibrillator.

    • Engineer
Uses quick-firing submachine guns. Perfect for the confrontation at short and medium distances. Engineer’s antipersonnel mines will make it possible to turn the enemy’s offensive into a hell incarnate.

    • Sniper
Masterfully handles sniper rifles, destroying key targets from a safe distance. Thanks to the crushing damage, a sniper is able to neutralize an enemy with one shot.

Play quick missions or full-scale raids in PvE…

The game class has been chosen, the weapons and equipment – selected. Now it is time to dive into battle! There are several short but exciting missions to choose from, or you can take part full-scale raids. The higher the difficulty – the greater the reward!

…or test your abilities in PvP

Do you want to test your mettle against other players? No problems! You are in for various PvP modes, from time tested classics to bold experiments. The most experienced fighters will be able to take part in ranking matches, prove their skills and get well-deserved rewards.

Earn in-game trophies to show off your skill to the world
For your accomplishments you can get more than three hundred unique achievements. These come in a form of marks, badges and stripes, displayable on your profile. They will be seen by thousands other players! But remember – those trophies will take effort!

A wide range of weapons and attachments to switch between in battle
Do you love weapons? Warface offers hundreds of weapon models. They have been made with stunning accuracy, a range of camouflage items and attachments that can be changed right in the heat of battle to turn its tide.

Pay special attention to the selection of equipment – various bulletproof vests, helmets, tactical gloves and much more. The right set is the key to success!

Warface will be available on PlayStation 4 this August. In the meantime, get ready for the fight. Decide on whose side you are!

Everything you need to know about military shooter Warface as it enters Early Access on PS4 today
The modes, maps and classes detailed as players bring the fight to the villainous Blackwood organisation, or each other

Warface is coming to PS4 this fall and today we’ll talk about the game and get a deeper look at some of its features that created a community with over 50 million members. With Early Access starting today, PS4 players from around the globe get a chance to become part of this community.

    PvP and PvE
First things first, let’s talk about the key features that make Warface a unique product for its genre. While most other shooters are either strictly PvP or PvE-oriented, Warface offers a mix of the two modes. Players can choose to sign up either for competitive action from random to ranked matches, or join forces with allies against the swarming AI-controlled Blackwood hordes.

A word about Blackwood: cunning yet practical, this villain organization is in constant search for the ways to bring the world to heel. It’s up to players to decide how the story is told – learning your enemy is a complex task here: enemies are presented in a wide variety of units, from basic to advanced infantry, weaponized turrets and cyborgs. Speaking of the latter, players will encounter plenty of them in one of the special operations, codenamed Anubis.

    Your character classes
Another feature that is essential to be mastered in Warface is teamplay. Classes play a crucial part in regards to teamplay and Warface has four of them available: Rifleman, Medic, Engineer and Sniper. Each of these classes have their own weapons of choice, pattern and style of gear.

Again – It’s important to play for the team in Warface, so classes are situational and can be changed (should be changed, in fact!) during the PvP matches depending on the needs of the team. Same thing works with PvE mode where you should carefully pre-select your class before entering the raid.

There are currently five Early Access packs available, four of which are tailored to the needs of each class, while the fifth one is the Collector’s Edition that includes the contents of all other packs and additionally provides a pistol, knife and premium in-game currency.

Early Access packs are a chance for players to get a good head start with certain exclusive weapons and their respective premium golden versions with enhanced visuals and stats.

    The maps
Another important part of gaming content are maps. Well-balanced maps are the foundation of competitive online gaming and Warface would feature 8 diverse locations for players to explore.

Players can choose from closed locations like Bunker, Black Mamba or Shuttle, featuring a train station allowing for multiple tactical opportunities. Players that are accustomed to fighting in narrow city streets would not be disappointed too with maps like Downtown or Streetwars.

At last there are two maps that are best suited for strict competitive play allowing for the main official Warface tournament PvP mode – Plant the Bomb.

Yard 2.0 and Bridges 2.0, combined with a wide variety of weapons as well as mastered teamplay could become jumping point for many future esports players and casual players that want to improve their skill. The maps feature renewed textures, improved gameplay and perfected balance.

The last feature that we wanted to talk about today are game modes. There are 8 PvP modes developed to best suit the needs of players. Looking to annihilate the enemy?

Team Deathmatch brings two diverse locations to fight in. More of a lone wolf? Put your skills to the test in Free for All — you shall find no allies or mercy here. Plant the Bomb and Storm add new twists to already familiar gameplay, and require not only tactical execution skills but strategic planning at high level.

These are just some of the features that we wanted to discuss today, and yet there is so much left – slides, PvE tactics, weapon choice.. We will discuss all of those in future posts and for now we invite everyone to take part in the Early Access and be among the first console players to explore the vast world of Warface!

I didn't realise it was an 'old' game. I sort of see his point about some of his comments and this 'early access' cost which seems to be happening more these days (Fortnite did it for PvE and that's still in early access, they also did it for The Tomorrow Children and ultimately the servers for that were shut down a year later). The cost does seem quite high compared to a AAA+ title. Maybe they should just be honest and sell it as a paid title? Though I guess they wouldn't then get away with the free-to-play funding model in-game.

Developers really should look at the Warframe model for free-to-play, which really does work.
