Right boring bit first my name is Terry (even though my psn id is jandt381) im 34 and im from the north east of England,
I found out about the SNR through the forums on battlelog while looking for a clan that suited my playing style, after checking what you were all about it sounded perfect. I have 4 kids and a granddaughter so my playing time is quite limited im on most nights for a couple of hours.

I started gaming on a spectrum then onto an amiga, after that it was Playstation all the way, except for the sega dreamcast which is still one of my favourite consoles to play on.

I have quite an eclectic mix of games and am obsessed with collecting sets, for example i have all the need for speeds most of the fifa's and tiger woods and all but the newest cod. Battlefield is the one im always on at the minute (much to the annoyance of my other half).

As a bit of a note I was in a clan for a while but was getting sick them being totally obsessed with their stats (to the point they would change servers if there was a risk of them going down) so that's why I went looking for a more relaxed atmosphere and ended up here.

That's about it hope to hear from and play with you soon.
    Terry

Hi Terry, nice to meet you and glad you decided to pay a visit.

Yes, we're definitely not hardcore over here, as you will find out when you play against me in any game   Its all about the laughs over here, and we really only play for fun. Weve got a good mixture of people here too, from players who are on every night to people like your goodself who play infrequently. And whilst we all love Battlfield 3 dearly, we do play other games too (Starhawk, Killzone, Uncharted, Eyepet etc). Actually that last one was only played by one person here who got a platinum for it. Shameful I know.

Next time Im online I'll bung you a friends request. The way things work round here is you spend a night with us (gaming, not in a motel), have a laugh and hopefully you'll want to stick around.

So what other games keep you busy? I like the COD games, but kids these days seem to use it as a youth club substitute and it puts you off playing it with all the potty mouthed spotty little urchins f-bombing all the time!! Uncharted 3 for me ranks as one of the best online games the PS3 does, but I like a bit of everything (Magic The Gathering, Uno, Dead Space, Assassins Creed).

Anyway, thats enough from me, so be prepared to be bombarded by the others now!!

    Hey Terry, Welcome.
Dont like Geordies or Mackems in our clan, we cant understand them
Where abouts exactly in the North east are you. I used to own computer shops around North Tyneside and sold lots of Amigas, most of which broke under warranty. Perhaps you were one of my dissatisfied customers?
We dont have a lot of COD people here. Battlefield is easier for us oldies to get to grips with . More time to work out where the hell you are before you die on Battlefield.
Sounds like you would fit in quite well here as we play Battlefield 3 times a week, although you will find members do play it every night when the others are on Killzone, Uncharted, Mass effect 3, Dirt, Burnout etc.
I used to get all the TW games but missed 2011 , got masters but never found anyone who was shite enough to play it with,. Seems full of stat obsessed Mericans (same as COD) but older versions.
As you can see by my amazing Sig, I'm really good at Battlefield so if you do stay around here and befriend me, I will be wapping yer ass.

Its our very own Martok who I dare say will be making an appearance at some point. In all fairness Ive got it too, but I dont have a platinum though. Which is worse; owning the game or not having a platinum for it? Told you we're not too hardcore over here!!

We had a Burnout Paradise run around with the girls from Hope clan the other day. With the PS Eyes on too!! :o  Yes very scarey as Im 44 & I wouldnt say Im in the best shape Ive ever been!! Really good laugh though.

You a BF3 Premium member? I mention it in passing as we've got a little get together tomorrow night, and I know you'd be more than welcome to join us. Its the Close Quarters DLC though, hence my initial question. Theres some playing BF3 right now, but of course some of us have got issues logging in what with the PSN maintenance.

Howdy Terry and welcome to our little club.

Looks like you've come to the right place. We're a casual bunch and not obsessed about stats at all. Except for Acegadgets, judging by his shiny new sig. Feel free to join in on our little get togheters on PSN and say hello. Be it BF3 or NFS. I currently own Hot Pursuit which I enjoy very much. Do you have Dirt: Showdown?

So you're 34 and already blessed with 4 kids and a granddaughter, you've been a busy boy ;). I'm impressed you find time to play mate.

Excuse my bad grammar, but I'm Dutch you see. I can have as much joints and hookers on my person at all times, but that seriously affects my skills on the qwerty. But I have a fondness for the UK as well, used to have an Adult book shop in Blenhiem St. before the crisis. Good times, good times.

Anyhoo, welcome again and get into a few games with us when you can. Hope to see you online soon.

OK so no smoggy jokes ....
I've got the burnout platinum, (my one and only platinum) we got it out a few weeks ago again and had a great laugh. I'm gonna see if I can persuade a few to play on Saturday night. Missed out on THE RUN , think Mr Sprout (whos floating around somewhere ) still plays it. He's Dutch and dosent speak very good English, but is good for cheap drugs, Soft porn and tulips if you ever need them.
I still have the first NFS, found the second one didnt seem to work with my logitec wheel very well so sold it. I used to play GT5 a lot but found that the races were getting a bit long and serious. More into DIRT, and really enjoying Showdown. Seems like it apeals to Burnout players more than racers. I popped a review on our front page to try to persuade some of my SNR friends to buy it but the cheapskates are waiting till its under £20 quid.
Anyway if you are up fora retro Burnout bash , then I'll send a frieds request when this bloody Network is back up again.

Welcome Terry, I dunno what it is about people from the North of the country and this place but we were just discussing earlier today that there's quite a large percentage of our members are from the North.

Hit a few of us up for friends requests and get yourself aquainted with us on our Battlefield server and we'll show you just how serious we take the game.

I'm probably one of the worst here, not arsed about having bad stats, but I do spend a lot of time on battlelog deciding which weapon i'm gonna work on next....I won't know what to do with myself if I ever get all the attachments unlocked!

Hopefully this is in the right order.
I don't have premium but I do own Close Quarters so will try and play tomorrow night.
I don't have Showdown but I played the demo and it looked rather good but I had my fingers burnt with Ridge Racer Unbounded which turned out to be one of the worst games I have played in a long time so I will wait till the price drops before I buy Showdown.
I spend most of my time on battlelog trying to work out which gun I should get a service star for next.

I'm frankly shocked, your arriving here can only be fate. That clan thread moves at such a heady pace, we bumped it at 7am and we'd vanished to the bottom of page 3 by lunchtime!

Anyway welcome, I'm Halo, partner to the EyePet trophy whore Martok. As other's have said we're quite an eclectic bunch ourselves. Personally I'm fresh from a battle against the Helghast after slaughtering hordes of zombies and shortly I'll be off to invade the Gulf of Oman to see if they've got any pinball machines.

Feel free to chuck me an invite (HaloJ) on PSN and I look forward to getting in a game with you soon.

    Abs

EDIT : stats and unlocks wise for BF3 I find BF3stats invaluable.

That's me and I'm glad you agree it's hard work. I've been telling this lot it was but they weren't having any of it. It's definitely worth 3 of any other platinums. Of course, I only did it for my daughter. ;)

As Halo has said already, I'm amazed you found us via the recruiting thread in the forums with the pace it plummets through that section due to new & bumped posts. We'll have keep bumping it more seeing that it works. :D

I was a Spectrum user (and the ZX81 before that). What games do you remember playing on that? I have fond memories of a few including Knightlore and Lords of Midnight. What about the PS1 and PS2, any favourites on there? Some of mine are Killzone, Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter, plus the early Burnout titles.

Are you a PS Plus subscriber? If so there's Motorstorm Apocalyse for free at the moment and we're likely to have an event in the next week or two which you may want to join us on as you appear to be a bit of a petrolhead. :)

I'll chuck you a Friends Request this evening. As has already been said, we like to play with new folk online so we all get a good feel for each other (fnarr!) and hopefully you'll see that we're not all a bunch of weirdos (just Acegadgets is ;) ) after which you'll get full membership (assuming that is what you want?). Full membership makes you a Senior Citizen of this place, gives you full access to the website and all its features, a place on the VIP list for our BF3 server (which you can find by searching for SNR or Senior Gamers) and you can then fly the [SNR] tags in online games. You can also have any comfy seat in our Seniors lounge, though don't pick the yellow one in the corner as Slaine has relieved himself in it again.

Anyway, welcome jandt381 (what shall call you on comms, jand? jant? janet? Ooh, that's good, janet!) and I'll see you online soon. :D

I cant really remember what I played on the spectrum (I was but a wee boy) but on Playstation it was nfs and burnout Most Wanted being my all time favourite who can forget spending hours sat on the bus station roof while the cops smashed themselves to bits down below.
As a bit of side note I have just been given 2 codes to join this weekends Dust 514 beta weekend so if anyone wants one just let me know.

Welcome Terry im a man of few words...... only joking. I have a son and like you only have a few hours to myself for my hobby which is gaming. Most of us are currently playing BF3 a lot, and by this i mean most nights :)

I'm from Whitley Bay but I currently live just outside Tynemouth, as Col has said there is a lot of us from or in the north :)

I have only just bought Showdown and as I like to mess around in racing games rather then taking it too serious this game was great for me. Don't get me wrong i like to win but with this game i dont mind losing its fun just to try. You can currently get the special edition for under £20

Dirt Showdown Hoonigan Edition - £19.85 at ShopTo.Net

I would say its a mix of Destruction derby, Burnout and Grid a very enjoyable game.

    Hope to see you online.

Hi Terry and welcome. BF3 seems to be proving to be good recruiting ground! As we've only been going a few months we really appreciate knowing how people find out about our little online corner :D

If you like racers you should be able to find plenty of our lot to play with. As has been said we played Burnout recently which was great fun. Even if most of us milled around not remembering where we were whilst Sprout was sitting on the finish line doing handstands! ;) Like you I got my Platinum on this. That was where I got my trophy addiction in fact. I doubt nothing else would have got me flat spinning off that cliff B-)

Personally I'm playing Killzone 3, Uncharted 3, Littlebig Planet 2 and hopefully Mass Effect 3 soon so hope to catch you online! :D

Oh and I'm currently on the train. So if you have a smartphone check out the Tapatalk app. Easy forum browing without a computer! ;)

    Alright G and T,

Would sir be wanting the full fat membership or the diet membership? Full fat offers everything! And the diet.......It means well and tries to make you feel good about yourself but It really just denies you all of the good stuff that everybody else has.

Anyway, Welcome to SNR and feel free to spam me a FR, HERMAN_JELMET on PSN and mien_herr_lipp on Battlelog.

    Toodlepip.
