Far Cry one was a fun shooter and the promise of it's growth into the first sequel was superb. Unfortunately FarCry 2 was just too much hard work with it's frustratingly annoying respawning outposts blocking every single path you ever took. Due to this I played through about half of it before giving up, trading it in and nick naming the game Fart Cry. All this conspired for me to ignore the forthcoming installation as I didn't hold out much hope for improvement of a game that sat slap in the middle of the open world shooter genre.
Apparently going by the EuroGamer review my worries for the title were completely unfounded. Whilst the beauty of the island is just as good as the former title they've spent time refining the gameplay to actually make it fun. No longer will the enemy descend upon you because they spotted your nose whilst you were sitting in a shrub 2 miles away from them. Now there's a fully functioning stealth element and the hateful respawning outposts seem to have been removed for a territory acquisition model.
So without further ado the link to the review; it's a good one and I must say whilst I'm not going to rush out and buy it this title is now firmly back on my radar.
