It seems that our 'official' Battlefield 3 nights are turning out to be Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays (although I know some folk play on other nights as well).

I'd like to continue to put up Events for these which are good advertising for the community when we get new members to the site as they'll see we are active on BF3 as well as our other titles.

Currently the titles I've used are are:

Battlefield 3 Thursday (this day was the most popular by various Seniors as being a BF3 day)
Battlefield 3 Close Quarters (this is on Friday)
Sunday hasn't been advertised yet

It'd be nice to come up with some snappy titles for these, so suggestions would be most welcome. :)

As for what we play on each day, my thoughts are:

  • Thursdays: Standard maps rotation (mix of standard + Karkland maps using Conquest, TDM and Rush modes)
  • Fridays: Rather than just stick with Close Quarters rotation (mostly CQ maps with a few standard ones in the mix too) maybe we should vary what we do on this day? Col did suggest we could have a Squad Rush rotation. Maybe we could have a different theme each week e.g. CQ one week, SQRush the next, something else after that etc?
  • Sundays: Standard maps rotation again?
Standard maps are good to pull in potential new members, hence thinking that 2 official nights with this setup might be good and the Friday then being something different that we fancy trying.

This isn't all hard and fast. I'm open to suggestions especially for titles for these evenings and what we do on each night. :)

I like the idea of sticking to what we know and love for basically the whole week and using friday as our "something a little different" day.

That something different could be whatever those who are going to make it fancy a blast of
Unfortunately there's not a lot of room for having rotations saved, but we can always set one up specifically and then overwrite it.

I like the idea of having a "Squad" setup ready to roll, just for when the numbers are low, consisting mainly of Squad Rush and Squad deathmatch (which I know isn't designed for just two squads...but should still work for ribbons).

We could setup various things though:
Conquest only
Rush only
Ground Games setting
Hardcore setting
Deathmatch only (for unlocking those attachments)

And just do this on an ad-hoc basis, prep a pack up for the night based on what the people signed up for want to play and switch onto that pack at a certain time or once people are on.

I like the idea of this. Well we've now got Rush this Friday, maybe we could look at Hardcore or Ground Games for the following week?

I'd still like to find some names for the various events. I'm a bit stumped and have only come up with:

Battlefield 3 Mixed Modes Mayhem
Battlefield 3 Seniors Special (though we'd need to think about what's special about it!)
Battlefield 3 Sunday Special (again we'd need to think about what's special about it! Plus it's a bit close to OAPs Battlefield Sunday title)

Ideas please...
